The Synology RS826RP+ is a 1U rackmount network-attached storage server built for edge deployments, branch offices and remote business workloads. It ships fully assembled and tested with a quad-core AMD Ryzen V1500B processor running at 2.2 GHz and 32GB of DDR4 memory installed.
Four-bay storage with cache and expansion
The four hot-swappable bays hold 3.5-inch SATA hard drives or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs and come populated with four 4TB Synology Plus drives for 16TB of raw capacity plus 800GB of enterprise cache on two 400GB SSDs. Businesses that need more bays can add one RX426 expansion unit, while those requiring 10GbE, 25GbE or M.2 adapters must use the single PCIe Gen3 slot, which accepts only one card at a time.
16TB raw capacity with 192TB ceiling
The included drives deliver 16TB of storage out of the box and the cache layer accelerates random I/O for HDD arrays. With the RX426 attached and supported 24TB drives installed, raw capacity scales to 192TB. Without the expansion unit the system stops at four bays, and the single PCIe slot prevents simultaneous networking and M.2 upgrades.
