Dual-protocol M.2 enclosure
The Vantec NST-211C3-RGB accepts one M.2 module in either NVMe or SATA protocol. It targets users who want to repurpose an internal SSD as portable external storage. The aluminium body doubles as a heatsink and adds multi-colour RGB illumination. It is not for buyers who need to run two drives simultaneously or who require a 3.5-inch form factor.
USB 3.2 Gen 2x1 bandwidth headroom
The USB 3.2 Gen 2x1 Type-C link delivers up to 10 Gbps, which saturates a SATA SSD and provides headroom for NVMe drives that exceed SATA speeds. Length support covers 2242, 2260 and 2280 modules, so most common M.2 sizes fit. The enclosure runs out of throughput for PCIe 4.0 or 5.0 NVMe drives that can exceed the 10 Gbps ceiling.
Plug-and-play across Mac, Windows, Linux
A USB-C to C/A cable, thermal pad, heat-transfer plate and toolless rubber mount ship in the box, so no extra parts are needed for assembly. UASP support and driver-free operation work on Mac OS X 10.10 or higher, Windows 10 and current Linux kernels. The pocket-sized 2.5-inch aluminium shell frees up desk space and draws power entirely from the host port.
