Practical limits of SATA and SAS

The SATA and SAS interfaces used here top out at 6 Gbps, so drive throughput cannot exceed that ceiling regardless of the SSD installed. Each bay requires its own data and power connection to the host, consuming four SATA ports and four power leads.
