The Dell PowerEdge R630 is a 1U rack server built around a single Intel Xeon E5-2609 V3 six-core processor running at 1.9GHz. It ships with 16GB of DDR4 memory across 24 DIMM slots and a Perc H330 RAID controller supporting levels 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 750W redundant hot-swap power supplies and iDRAC8 remote management come standard.

Suits dense virtualisation.

This configuration fits environments that need compute density in a 1U form factor with room for up to 10 hot-plug 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives. Buyers who want more storage bays or a second processor installed should look at larger chassis options. The Matrox G200 graphics and single 1GbE daughter card limit GPU-accelerated or high-throughput networking tasks.

Included rails and cabling simplify rack mounting

A rail kit, bezel and power cable are bundled so the server can be racked immediately without extra parts. No operating system, hard drives or drive trays are supplied, so storage media and hypervisor licences must be sourced separately. Optional 10GbE NDC upgrades and vFlash media are not included in this package.
