The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 fits a single rack unit and ships with two Xeon E5-2640 v3 processors, each running at 2.6 GHz with eight cores. It is aimed at IT teams that need compute density in a standard 1U footprint without sacrificing redundant power or hardware RAID capability.

Dual processors and 24 DIMM slots demand matched

The system board provides 24 DDR4 slots, twelve per CPU, and currently holds 8 GB. Populating all channels requires identical ECC registered modules per processor to reach full bandwidth. Two hot-swap 500 W supplies share the load, freeing the builder from sourcing a single high-wattage unit and allowing maintenance without downtime.

H240ar controller enables flexible SAS

The bundled Smart HBA H240ar supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the four 3.5-inch drive bays. Two 1 TB 7.2 K SAS drives are pre-installed, leaving two bays open for capacity expansion or a mirrored OS pair. No operating system is included, so the installer chooses the hypervisor or OS that matches the workload.
