The WRIARICH SA28 connects 2.5in and 3.5in SATA or IDE hard drives, SSDs, and optical drives to a computer through a USB 3.0 Type-C port. A 12V power supply is included for 3.5in devices. It works with Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and Chrome OS. The adapter is designed for data recovery, drive cloning, and accessing legacy storage.

Upgrading from USB 2.0 docks

Moving from a USB 2.0 adapter raises the theoretical transfer ceiling to 5Gb/s, roughly ten times the older rate. The jump is worth it when copying large archives or disk images from mechanical drives that can sustain higher sequential throughput. If the source drive is limited to USB 2.0 speeds, the adapter will not increase its actual performance.

Limited by drive and host bus

Real-world speed depends on the connected drive’s own maximum transfer rate and the host controller’s USB implementation. Mechanical 3.5in drives often saturate well below the 5Gb/s interface limit.
