The ASRock Rack C236 WS is an ATX server motherboard built around the Intel C236 chipset and the LGA 1151 socket. LGA 1151 socket decides CPU compatibility

The LGA 1151 socket limits the board to the processors listed in the official support list, including Xeon E3-1200 v5 and v6 chips and specific 6th- and 7th-generation Core, Pentium and Celeron models. BIOS version 2.0 or above is required for certain v4 series Xeons. DDR4 2400 MT/s is only available when a v6 Xeon is installed; otherwise the maximum supported speed is 2133 MT/s. Non-ECC UDIMMs are supported only with client operating systems.
