This Dell PowerEdge R740 chassis holds up to eight 3.5" drives and ships with two Xeon Silver 6130 processors running at 2.1GHz. 256GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory is installed across the available slots. The PERC H730P RAID controller manages storage arrays while an integrated 10GbE dual-port 562T adapter handles network traffic. Designed for virtualisation hosts, database nodes or dense compute clusters that need flexible local storage capacity.

Dual 750W supplies and iDRAC9 Enterprise

Two 750W power supplies provide redundancy for the dual-processor configuration and eight-drive backplane. iDRAC9 Enterprise licence enables full remote console, power control and hardware monitoring over the network. Firmware and BIOS are updated to the latest stable release before dispatch and each unit completes a burn-in diagnostic cycle. The 2U rack form factor fits standard cabinets without special clearance requirements.

No drives or rails included by default

Storage drives are not installed; the eight SATA bays accept compatible 3.5" HDDs or SSDs that you add separately. Rail kits are available on request rather than bundled in the box. The PERC H730P controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for the drives you choose. Buyers who need pre-populated arrays or specific drive capacities must request a custom configuration before ordering.
