The HP ProLiant DL380 G9 is a 2U rack server built for workloads that benefit from high clock speed across twelve physical cores. Two Xeon E5-2643 v3 processors run at 3.4GHz and support hyper-threading for twenty-four logical threads. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory are installed across the twenty-four DIMM slots.

Eight-bay SFF chassis with software RAID

The front panel holds eight 2.5-inch drive bays ready for SATA or SAS media; the B140i controller provides RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 for SATA devices only. Optional universal media bay and NVMe upgrades can occupy the second and third bay areas, expanding capacity to sixteen or twenty-four SFF drives. Redundant hot-swap 500W power supplies keep the system running during a module failure.

Basic display output is handled by an integrated Matrox G200eH2 adapter with 16MB of video memory, suitable for console management and remote KVM sessions. The Intel C610 chipset coordinates I/O while the dual-processor layout balances memory channels across twelve slots per CPU. DDR4 modules operate up to 2400MT/s depending on processor capability.
