SAS interface and RAID limits

The Smart HBA H240ar controller provides 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA connectivity with support for RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Twelve-gigabit SAS links give headroom for 15K drives, while the 6Gb SATA ceiling caps throughput for solid-state media. The eight front bays accept 2.5-inch SAS or SATA devices; NVMe and additional bay kits are optional and not included. Builders who need native NVMe performance or more than eight drives without extra hardware cannot use this configuration as-is.

Memory capacity and headroom

Eight gigabytes of DDR4 are installed across twenty-four DIMM slots, leaving ample room to grow. The platform supports up to 3TB total using 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB or 64GB registered ECC modules at speeds up to 2400MT/s, limited by the processor memory controller.
