Blade server for dense compute

The HPE BL460c Gen10 is a half-height blade that fits into a supported enclosure and delivers two Xeon Platinum 8253 processors running at 2.2 GHz with sixteen cores each. It ships with 48 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory and two 4 TB SATA 2.5-inch drives managed by a Smart Array P204i-b SR controller. This configuration targets virtualisation hosts, database nodes and high-performance workloads that demand maximum core count in a shared chassis.

Verify enclosure and fabric compatibility

Confirm that your HPE c-Class enclosure has available half-height bays and sufficient power and cooling capacity for the dual-processor thermal design. The blade uses a FlexFabric 20 GB 2-port 650FLB adapter, so the interconnect modules must support that fabric speed and port count. Memory can be expanded to 128 GB using DDR4 modules, but the maximum processor count is already reached at two sockets.

Integrated management and storage layout

HPE iLO Advanced provides remote console, power control and firmware updates over a dedicated management network without requiring physical access to the blade. The internal drive cage accepts only two 2.5-inch devices, limiting local storage to the installed SATA drives or a future swap of equal form factor. A rail kit is available separately for rack mounting outside the standard enclosure environment.
