The HPE JD183A#ABA H3C RPS 800 is an external DC power unit designed to provide redundant backup power for compatible H3C network switches. It accepts AC input and delivers selectable DC output voltages to the connected device. AC Input and Selective DC Output

The unit accepts 110 V AC or 220 V AC input and can supply +12 V DC at 17.25 A, -54 V DC at 12 A, or both voltages concurrently depending on the attached output cables. It features a single +12 V rail and a total rated output power of 650 W. The redundant system only activates its DC output when it detects a primary power supply failure in the powered switch. This cold-backup behaviour limits its use to failover scenarios rather than continuous load-sharing.

Compatibility Limited to Specific Switch Models

The RPS 800 is validated for use with the H3C S5500-52C-EI switch and HP 3Com 4800G 24-port and 48-port switches. Buyers whose infrastructure uses different switch models or vendors cannot use this unit for redundant power. The fixed output voltages and proprietary cabling prevent adaptation to servers, storage arrays, or non-listed network gear.
