AM4 socket board for Ryzen and A-series

The MSI A320M PRO-VH PLUS fits AMD RYZEN series processors with AM4 pin support and 7th generation A-series or Athlon chips. It uses the AMD A320 chipset on a Micro ATX form factor. Dual-channel DDR4 memory runs at 1866, 2133, 2400, 2667, 2933 (OC) or 3200 (OC) MHz up to 32GB total capacity.

Build quality and daily connectivity

The board provides one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot running at x16 mode with RYZEN CPUs and x8 mode with A-series or Athlon CPUs, plus two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots for add-in cards. Four SATA III ports handle storage drives while six USB 3.1 Gen1 ports and six USB 2.0 ports cover peripherals. Realtek ALC887 delivers 7.1 channel audio and a Realtek 8111H controller supplies Gigabit LAN.

Practical limits of the A320 platform

Memory overclocking above 2667 MHz depends on CPU and module quality, so 2933 and 3200 MHz are not guaranteed. The single x16 slot and two x1 slots restrict multi-GPU or high-bandwidth add-in configurations. Four SATA ports limit the number of drives without extra controllers. USB 3.1 Gen1 tops out at 5 Gbps, so faster external storage will not reach its full potential.
