Socket AM4 Ryzen platform

The MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS motherboard is built for AMD Ryzen desktop processors on the Socket AM4 interface. It supports 5000 Series, 4000 G-Series, 3rd Gen and 2nd Gen Ryzen CPUs, including models with Radeon Vega graphics. The AMD X570 chipset provides a stable foundation for gaming and workstation builds.

ATX layout and DDR4 slots

The board uses a standard ATX form factor measuring 23.6 by 20.0 centimetres, so it fits most mid-tower and full-tower cases. Four DDR4 DIMM slots accept up to 128GB total memory across speeds from 1866 to 4400 MHz. Installation follows normal ATX standoff patterns; the main challenge is routing the 24-pin and 8-pin power cables cleanly behind the motherboard tray.

CPU generation and M.2 lane allocation

Before ordering, confirm which Ryzen generation you will install because PCIe lane configuration changes. 3rd Gen Ryzen enables PCIe 4.0 x16 on the primary slot and Gen4 x4 on the M.2 sockets. 2nd Gen Ryzen and 4000 G-Series drop to PCIe 3.0 modes, altering GPU and storage bandwidth. Verify your CPU cooler clearance against the VRM heatsink height and ensure your power supply has the required 8-pin EPS connector.
