Synology RS2421+/RP+ ECC Memory Upgrade

This 8GB DDR4 ECC UDIMM is validated for the Synology RackStation RS2421+ and RS2421RP+. It adds capacity to NAS workloads that require error-correcting memory for data integrity. The single module installs in a standard 288-pin slot. It is not suited for systems that need registered DIMMs or non-ECC memory.

JEDEC-Standard 1.2V Operation

The module runs at the JEDEC 1.2V specification with a CL19 latency at 2666MHz. Standard voltage keeps power draw low and thermals manageable inside a populated rack chassis. No heat spreader is fitted, so airflow from the system fans cools the DRAM directly. Acoustic profile is unchanged because the DIMM adds no moving parts.

288-Pin UDIMM Form Factor

The stick fits any DDR4 UDIMM slot wired for ECC unbuffered operation. Backward compatibility with 2133MHz and 2400MHz buses lets it slot into mixed-speed configurations without manual tuning. It frees a second slot for future expansion while delivering 8GB per module. Builds requiring registered memory or higher densities must use different modules.
