The Supermicro SYS-6029U-E1CR4T is a 2U rackmount system built around two Intel Xeon Silver 4110 processors. Each CPU delivers 8 cores at 2.1 GHz with a 3.0 GHz turbo frequency. The platform targets virtualization hosts, hyper-converged storage clusters and cloud workloads that need dense 3.5-inch drive capacity in a compact chassis. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4-2400 registered ECC memory across four modules.

Sustained multi-threaded throughput

Dual 8-core processors provide 16 threads that maintain 2.1 GHz base clocks under continuous load, while turbo can lift all cores toward 3.0 GHz within the 205 W TDP envelope per socket. The MegaRAID 9361-8i controller with 1 GB cached battery-backed write acceleration keeps RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60 arrays responsive during extended write-heavy phases. Four 10GBase-T ports from the Intel X710 adapter sustain high packet rates for storage replication or VM migration without saturating the PCIe 3.0 x8 links.

Thermals and power in normal operation

Redundant 1000 W titanium-efficiency power supplies share the load, reducing per-unit stress and fan speed during typical utilisation. Hot-swap drive bays and the front-to-rear airflow path keep 12 spinning drives within spec without requiring maximum fan curves. The dedicated IPMI 2.0 port with KVM-over-LAN lets administrators monitor temperatures, power draw and fan RPM remotely, so thermal headroom can be verified without physical access.
