Supermicro 36-Bay 4U Storage Server

This 4U rackmount system delivers high-density storage with 36 hot-swap 3.5-inch drive bays supporting SATA and SAS drives. Dual Xeon E5-2667 v4 processors at 3.2 GHz provide 16 total cores for demanding workloads. The MegaRAID 9361-8i controller handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with 1 GB cache and battery backup. Quad 10GBase-T ports and IPMI 2.0 management complete the enterprise feature set.

The 36-bay capacity and redundant 1280 W platinum power supplies fit organisations that need massive raw capacity in a single chassis. Buyers who need GPU acceleration or more than eight internal RAID ports will not find those interfaces here. The system ships without front bezel or rack rails, so those items must be sourced separately.

36 hot-swap 3.5-inch drive bays define the storage

No drives are included, so the usable capacity depends entirely on the SATA or SAS drives selected. The 9361-8i controller supports up to eight direct SAS/SATA connections, while the remaining bays require expander backplane routing. Maximum memory reach is 3 TB with LRDIMMs or 1.5 TB with RDIMMs across 24 DDR4 slots.
