Socket and chipset

The ASRock H97M Pro4 is a Micro ATX motherboard built around the Intel H97 chipset and LGA 1150 socket. It accepts 4th and 5th Generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors as well as Celeron and Pentium models. Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 is supported on compatible CPUs.

Memory and storage headroom

Four 240-pin slots take DDR3 or DDR3L modules at 1600, 1333 or 1066 MT/s in dual-channel mode up to 32 GB total. Six SATA3 6.0 Gb/s ports provide RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 support through Intel Rapid Storage Technology 13 and Intel Smart Response Technology. A single PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot runs at x16; a second x16 slot operates at x4 mode, and two legacy PCI slots remain available.

Integrated I/O and bundled updates

Onboard video uses the processor's Intel HD Graphics 4400 or 4600 with Quick Sync Video, InTru 3D and Clear Video HD. Audio is handled by the Realtek ALC892 codec delivering 7.1 channels. Networking comes from the Intel I218V controller at 1 Gbps. A PS/2 combo port is included. The BIOS will be upgraded to the latest version before dispatch.
