Micro-ATX server board for Xeon E5 v3 and v4

The ASRock Rack EPC612D4U is a Micro-ATX motherboard built around the Intel C612 chipset and the LGA 2011 R3 socket. It accepts single Intel Xeon E5-1600 and E5-2600 v3 or v4 processors, with BIOS version 2.0 or above required for v4 chips. The board targets compact 1U or 2U server builds that need workstation-class compute density.

Quad-channel DDR4 with RDIMM and LRDIMM headroom

Four 288-pin slots run DDR4 at 2400, 2133, 1866 or 1600 MT/s in quad-channel mode. Registered DIMMs scale to 32 GB per module, while load-reduced DIMMs reach 64 GB per module, giving substantial memory capacity for virtualization or in-memory workloads. The eight SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports from the C612 plus two additional SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports provide ten drive connections with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 on the primary set and RAID 0 and 1 on the secondary set.

IPMI 2.0 management with dual gigabit LAN

An ASPEED AST2400 controller delivers IPMI 2.0 with KVM-over-IP and a dedicated RTL8211E management LAN port for out-of-band access. Dual Intel I350 gigabit controllers handle production traffic at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps. Expansion includes two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots — the second drops to x8 when the third x8 slot is populated — and the first x16 slot switches to x8 when an LSI 3008 controller is installed, letting builders balance GPU, storage or networking cards within the power envelope of a Micro-ATX chassis.
