Socket LGA 1151 300 Series platform
The ASRock Z390 Extreme4 is an ATX motherboard built on the Intel Z390 chipset for 8th and 9th generation Intel Core processors using the LGA 1151 socket. It is not backward compatible with older LGA 1151 CPUs. The board targets builders who need a full-size layout with multiple expansion slots and high-speed storage options.
12 power phase digital PWM design
A 12 power phase digital PWM arrangement delivers stable current to the CPU during extended workloads. Dual Ultra M.2 sockets with Gen3 x4 lanes
Two Ultra M.2 sockets accept M Key modules up to 2280 length. The primary M2_1 slot operates at PCIe 3.0 x4 for 32Gb/s throughput with NVMe or SATA drives. M2_1 shares bandwidth with two SATA3 ports so only one of the three can be active at a time. The second M.2 socket adds further high-speed storage flexibility.
