Designed for 10th Gen Intel Core
The ASUS ROG Maximus XII Formula uses an LGA 1200 socket paired with the Intel Z490 chipset. It accepts 10th Generation Intel Core, Pentium Gold and Celeron processors. Four 288-pin DDR4 slots support up to 128GB in dual-channel mode with speeds ranging from 2400 to 4700+(O.C.) MHz.
Sustained load power and cooling
Sixteen Infineon power stages rated at 70 amps each deliver stable voltage during extended heavy workloads. The CrossChill EK III VRM block combines extra-large heatsinks with a solid steel backplate, allowing both air and water cooling for the VRM, chipset and M.2 areas.
Installation notes
Standard ATX layout fits typical cases, but the integrated water block adds height near the CPU socket. The three M.2 slots share bandwidth with specific PCIe and SATA ports, so populating M.2_3 disables the third x16 slot and using M.2_2 in x4 mode disables SATA ports five and six. The two-inch LiveDash OLED and Aura Sync headers require internal USB and RGB connections.
