The ASUS ROG Strix H370-F Gaming is an ATX motherboard built around the Intel H370 chipset for 8th and 9th Generation Intel Core processors using the LGA 1151 socket. This board only supports 8th and 9th Generation Intel Core, Pentium Gold and Celeron processors in the LGA 1151 300 Series socket; older LGA 1151 CPUs will not work. DDR4 2666 MHz is supported only with 8th Generation 6-core processors, otherwise modules run at 2400 MHz or 2133 MHz. The chipset does not allow CPU overclocking, so K-series chips run at stock speeds.

Dual M.2 slots and expansion layout

Two M.2 sockets accept 2242, 2260 and 2280 drives; one runs at PCIe 3.0 x4 and the other at PCIe 3.0 x2 or SATA mode, with a heatsink on the first slot. Six SATA 6Gb/s ports handle additional drives. A primary PCIe 3.0 x16 slot takes a graphics card, a second x16 slot runs at x4 and four x1 slots add peripherals. USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C ports sit on the rear I/O.
