The ASUS ROG STRIX Z890-H GAMING WIFI motherboard uses the LGA 1851 socket and Intel Z890 chipset to support Intel Core Ultra Processors (Series 2). Four DDR5 slots accept up to 256GB of memory running at 9066+ MT/s with XMP 3.0, AEMP III, DIMM Flex and DIMM Fit. The board targets builders who want an advanced AI PC platform with extensive connectivity.

Sustained load power delivery

A 16+1+2+2 phase design rated at 80A per stage feeds the CPU through ProCool II connectors, MicroFine alloy chokes and metallic capacitors. Massive heatsinks integrated with the I/O cover join a U-shaped heatpipe and high-conductivity thermal pads to move heat away from the power stages during long workloads. AI Cooling II tunes fan curves with one click while AI Overclocking adjusts frequencies based on real-time thermal headroom.

Upgrade path from older platforms

The board adds one PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot, three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots, WiFi 7, 5Gb LAN and a USB 20Gbps Type-C port with 30W Power Delivery. Four SATA 6Gb/s ports and two chipset PCIe 4.0 x16 slots (x4 mode) keep existing drives and add-in cards working. The jump is worthwhile when moving to Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors and faster DDR5 memory for AI-accelerated tasks.
