The ASUS RT-AX82U GUNDAM is a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router built for households that prioritise low-latency gaming traffic. It delivers combined wireless rates up to 5400 Mbps using 160 MHz channels and supports MU-MIMO for multiple simultaneous devices. A dedicated gaming LAN port gives wired priority to a console or PC. ASUS AiMesh lets you expand coverage by linking compatible routers.

Verify that your broadband modem provides an Ethernet handoff for the single 10/100/1000M WAN port. The router measures 6.50" x 10.85" x 7.26" with antennas attached, so confirm shelf or desk clearance. Four external antennas are fixed in position and cannot be replaced with high-gain alternatives. Power requires a standard 110-240V AC outlet supplying 19V at 1.75A via the included adapter.
Build quality and daily connectivity
The chassis weighs 1.63 lbs and features Aura RGB lighting with selectable effects that can be toggled by a dedicated LED button. Four Gigabit LAN ports and one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port sit at the rear for wired clients and storage sharing. WPS, reset and power switches are recessed to prevent accidental presses.
