The ASUS TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI is an ATX motherboard built for AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series processors. It targets builders who want a durable foundation for gaming and AI workloads. The board delivers a 14+2+1 80A DrMOS power design with ProCool connectors and an eight-layer PCB.

PCIe 5.0 and 4.0 lane allocation

One PCIe 5.0 x16 slot runs at x16 with Ryzen 9000 and 7000 CPUs. Ryzen 8000 series CPUs operate the primary slot at PCIe 4.0 x8 or x4. A chipset-linked PCIe 4.0 x16 slot runs at x4 but is disabled when the third M.2 socket is populated. Two PCIe 4.0 x1 slots and four SATA 6Gb/s ports complete the expansion map.

DIY friendly installation features

Pre-mounted I/O shield, PCIe Slot Q-Release and M.2 Q-Latch simplify hardware fitting. Q-Antenna eases Wi-Fi 7 antenna attachment. BIOS FlashBack updates firmware without a CPU installed. Q-LED and Q-Dashboard give instant post-code feedback. The main M.2_1 socket accepts 2280 drives at PCIe 5.0 x4; M.2_2 supports 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 lengths at PCIe 4.0 x4.
