It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory installed across four DIMM slots and includes two 2 TB 7.2K SAS drives managed by a PERC H730 RAID controller. Dual 350 W redundant hot-swap power supplies keep the system running if one unit fails.

Sustained load with H730 RAID and redundant power

The PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, allowing the two 2 TB SAS drives to operate in a protected array during continuous read and write cycles. Redundant 350 W power supplies share the load evenly and maintain operation if one supply is removed or fails. Memory runs at speeds up to 2400 MT/s depending on the processor, providing stable throughput for database or virtualisation tasks that run for hours.

Installation notes and common issues

The 1U chassis mounts in a standard rack using rails that are not included in the shipment. Four hot-plug 3.5-inch drive bays allow drive changes without tools, but the system only supports a single processor so a second CPU cannot be added later. Maximum memory capacity is listed as 32 GB in the specification sheet, so the installed 32 GB already fills the supported limit. iDRAC8 Express provides remote management out of the box; Enterprise features require a separate licence upgrade.
