1U rack server for dual Xeon workloads

The Dell PowerEdge R430 fits a standard 1U rack space and ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3 processors running at 2.4 GHz. Forty-eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory are installed across twelve DIMM slots. Three 600 GB 15 000 RPM SAS drives connect through a PERC H730 RAID controller that supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. The system includes a DVD-ROM drive, four 1 GbE network ports and two PCIe 3.0 expansion slots. Remote management is handled by iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller.

Single 550 W PSU with redundant hot-swap design

The 550 watt power supply is hot-swappable and provides redundancy within its single-module design. Two processors and three 15 000 RPM drives generate a steady thermal load that the 1U cooling system manages through high-speed fans. Expect noticeable fan noise in a quiet office; the server is intended for a dedicated server room or rack cabinet. The Matrox G200eR2 video controller with 8 MB cache handles basic console output only. Power consumption will vary with workload and any additional PCIe cards or drives installed.
