This system suits buyers who need up to eight 3.5-inch hot-plug SAS or SATA drives in a compact 2U chassis with hardware RAID and redundant power. It does not suit buyers who require two processors, more than 12 DIMM slots, or PCIe 4.0 expansion. The installed memory is fixed at 8GB and the single CPU occupies one of two sockets.

The installed Xeon E5-2650 V3 delivers ten physical cores and 20 virtual cores with hyper-threading, defining the maximum thread capacity for this configuration. A second processor can be added to double that figure, but the current build operates with one CPU only.
