Steady throughput

Redundant 750W hot-swap supplies keep the system running during a power-module failure, and the H730 controller with 1GB cache sustains RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across up to eight 3.5-inch SAS or SATA bays. The two installed 600GB 15K SAS drives deliver consistent IOPS for mixed read-write patterns, while the 2400MT/s memory ceiling matches the processor capability. The four 1GbE ports on the daughter card handle management and data traffic without extra cards.

Straightforward deployment

Slide rails mount the 62-pound chassis in a standard rack; the iDRAC8 Express interface gives remote console, power control and inventory before the OS loads. Memory population follows the six-slots-per-processor rule, so fill the first bank before adding a second CPU. The DVD-ROM occupies one bay, leaving seven for additional drives. No operating system is included, so plan installation media separately.
