Buyers who need more than 64 GB of memory out of the box should look at a different configuration. The 8-bay 2.5-inch chassis limits internal drive count, so deployments requiring many local spindles will need external storage. Workloads that demand a larger rack footprint or more than two processors are not addressed by this platform.

The storage controller is a Dell PERC H730P with 2 GB battery-backed cache, providing 12 Gb/s SAS and SATA connectivity. It determines which RAID levels are available and whether the installed SSDs can be placed in a protected array.
