Eight 600 GB 10K SAS drives connect through a PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache.

Tool-less rails and hot-swap bays

Ready Rails allow the chassis to slide into a standard rack without tools. All eight 2.5-inch drive bays and both 750 W platinum power supplies support hot-swap replacement. The PERC H730P battery-backed cache protects in-flight writes during a power event. iDRAC 9 Enterprise gives full remote console access even when the operating system is down.

SAS 12 Gb/s bandwidth ceiling

The storage controller and drives operate at 12 Gb/s SAS, limiting sequential throughput to that link speed. RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 are supported, but the eight-bay count caps the maximum usable capacity and stripe width. Network connectivity uses two 1 GbE and two 10 GbE SFP+ ports on the daughter card. The two-socket maximum means CPU expansion stops at the installed pair.
