The Dell PowerEdge R650 packs two Intel Xeon Silver 4316 processors, each with 20 cores at 2.3 GHz and a 3.4 GHz turbo, into a 1U rack chassis. With 768 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory across 24 DIMM slots, it targets dense virtualisation, database and private-cloud deployments that demand high core counts and large memory capacity in minimal rack space.

Ten hot-swap bays plus PCIe Gen4 expansion

The front panel holds ten 2.5-inch SATA bays, all populated with 960 GB enterprise SSDs behind a Dell PERC H755 RAID controller that supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with 8 GB NV cache. Dual 1400 W platinum hot-swap power supplies and an OCP 3.0 slot hosting a Broadcom 57412 dual-port 10 GbE SFP+ adapter leave internal PCIe Gen4 slots free for additional accelerators or storage controllers.

iDRAC9 Enterprise and ready-to-rack hardware

Integrated iDRAC 9 Enterprise provides full out-of-band lifecycle management, remote console and automated deployment through OpenManage. The shipment includes sliding ready rails and a front bezel, so the server can be racked and cabled immediately without sourcing separate mounting kits or front-panel accessories.
