Dual Xeon 1U Server

The Dell PowerEdge R650xs is a 1U rackmount server fitted with two Intel Xeon Silver 4314 processors running at 2.4 GHz with a 3.4 GHz turbo. Each CPU provides 16 cores for a total of 32 cores across the system. It ships with 512 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory in 16 modules and includes iDRAC9 Enterprise for remote management.

Upgrade From Single Socket

Replacing a single-socket 1U server with this dual-processor model doubles the core count to 32 and raises the memory ceiling to 1 TB. The jump is worthwhile when virtualization density, database threading or container orchestration demand more parallel execution than a single Xeon can deliver. The PERC H745 controller with 4 GB NV cache adds hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 without consuming a PCIe slot.
