The Dell PowerEdge R650xs packs two Intel Xeon Silver 4314 processors into a single rack unit, delivering 32 total cores at 2.4 GHz with 3.4 GHz turbo for dense virtualization and cloud workloads. It ships with 128 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory across eight slots and includes a PERC H745 RAID controller with 4 GB NV cache. Eight 960 GB SATA SSDs provide high-speed storage out of the box. iDRAC9 Enterprise and quad-port 1 GbE networking complete a ready-to-deploy platform.

Thermals Power and Noise

Dual 1400 W platinum hot-swap power supplies deliver redundant power while maintaining efficiency under load. The 1U chassis uses Dell's directed-airflow design to cool both CPUs, memory and drives within standard data-centre temperature ranges. Acoustic output is managed for rack-row deployment, and the redundant supply configuration allows non-disruptive maintenance without thermal compromise.

Eight-Bay 2.5 Inch Storage Limit

The front panel accepts exactly eight 2.5-inch drives, so capacity scales only by swapping to higher-density SSDs or adding external enclosures. Buyers who need more internal bays or 3.5-inch support must choose a different chassis. The H745 controller handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across all populated bays.
