The Dell PowerEdge R650xs packs two Intel Xeon Gold 5317 processors and 512GB of DDR4 ECC memory into a single rack unit. Twelve cores per CPU at 3.0GHz base clock with 3.6GHz turbo provide strong multi-threaded throughput for virtualization and database workloads. Sixteen DIMM slots are fully populated with 32GB modules at 2933MHz. Maximum memory capacity reaches 1TB.

Ten-bay SAS storage with hardware RAID

Ten 2.5-inch drive bays hold 1.8TB 10K SAS disks connected to a PERC H745 controller with 4GB NV cache and battery backup. Supported RAID levels include 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for flexible data protection. A Broadcom 57412 dual-port 10GbE SFP+ OCP 3.0 adapter handles high-speed networking. iDRAC9 Enterprise enables full remote management. Ready Rails and a front bezel are included for immediate rack installation.

Dual 1400W platinum power supplies

Redundant hot-swap 1400 Watt platinum-efficiency units share load and maintain uptime if one fails. The 1U chassis uses front-to-rear airflow tuned for dense rack rows. Fan speeds scale with CPU and drive temperatures to balance cooling and acoustic output. Power draw varies with workload but remains within the platinum efficiency curve under typical virtualization loads.
