The PowerEdge R730 fits into a 2U rack slot and runs two Xeon E5-2683 v3 processors at 2.0 GHz with 3.0 GHz turbo. Fourteen cores per chip give 28 threads for heavy multi-threaded workloads such as virtual desktop infrastructure, data warehousing or high-performance computing nodes. It ships with 768 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC memory across all 24 slots.

Redundant 750 W platinum supplies

Dual 750 watt platinum power supplies share the load and keep the system running if one unit fails. Eight 2.5-inch SATA bays hold the installed 400 GB enterprise SSDs, and the backplane connects to the PERC H730 controller with its 1 GB cache and battery backup. The rack rails and front bezel are included for immediate mounting.

The PERC H730 supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode, so you can tune redundancy or capacity without extra hardware. iDRAC 8 Enterprise provides full out-of-band console access, power control and firmware updates over a dedicated network port.
