The PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server built for midsize and large enterprise workloads such as data warehousing, e-commerce, virtual desktop infrastructure, databases and high-performance computing data nodes. It ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2699 v4 processors, each delivering 22 cores at 2.2 GHz with a 3.6 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 64 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory across four 16 GB modules. Eight 2.5-inch drive bays provide internal storage capacity.

Dual 750 W platinum power supplies

Two 750 watt platinum-efficiency power supplies operate in a redundant hot-swap configuration to maintain uptime during a unit failure. The Intel C610 chipset and LGA 2011-3 socket platform manage power delivery to the dual 22-core processors and 24 DIMM slots. Redundant cooling and the 2U form factor support sustained operation in dense rack environments. Hot-swap power supplies allow replacement without shutting down the server.

PERC H730 RAID controller with battery-backed cache

The Dell PERC H730 1 GB controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode with battery-backed write cache for data protection.
