Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 memory and two 300 GB 15K SAS drives on a PERC H730 RAID controller provide a ready-to-run platform for virtualisation hosts or database workloads. Dual 750 W redundant power supplies and an iDRAC8 remote-management module are included.

Tool-free drive and memory installation

Eight 2.5-inch hot-plug bays accept SAS or SATA drives without tools; trays are supplied with the drives. Twenty-four DDR4 DIMM slots — twelve per processor — are accessible after removing the top cover, and the PERC H730 installs in a dedicated slot so no PCIe slot is consumed. The single-CPU configuration leaves the second processor socket empty, so a matched Xeon must be added before populating the remaining twelve slots.

PCIe 3.0 and 1 GbE connectivity limits

Seven PCIe 3.0 slots plus the dedicated PERC slot support RAID controllers, NICs or GPU accelerators, but the platform tops out at PCIe 3.0 bandwidth.
