Dual Xeon 2U rack server

The Dell PowerEdge R730XD fits a standard 2U rack and ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2630v3 eight-core processors running at 2.4GHz. It delivers 32 virtual threads for parallel workloads such as virtualization hosts, database nodes or batch processing. The system arrives without an operating system so the software stack can be chosen freely.

Hot-plug drive bays and redundant power

Twelve 3.5-inch hot-plug bays accept SAS or SATA drives and the chassis includes two 750W redundant power supplies for continuous uptime. A DVD-ROM drive is fitted as standard. The Perc H730 RAID controller with 1GB cache supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the installed drives.

32GB DDR4 with 24 DIMM slots

Installed memory is 32GB of DDR4 and the board provides 24 DIMM slots, twelve per processor, supporting modules up to 128GB each for a maximum of 1536GB. Buyers who need more memory than the factory configuration must add modules themselves. The H730 controller manages the three included 2TB 7.2K SAS drives.
