The PowerEdge R730xd is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Xeon E5-2683 v3 processors. Each CPU delivers 14 cores at 2.0 GHz with a 3.0 GHz turbo frequency. The system ships with 64 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across four 16 GB modules. It targets midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, e-commerce platforms, virtual desktop infrastructure, databases or high-performance computing data nodes.

24-bay 2.5-inch chassis with PERC H730 controller

The front panel holds 24 hot-swap 2.5-inch drive bays connected to a Dell PERC H730 1 GB storage controller. The controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. Two 400 GB SATA SSDs are installed from the factory. The board provides 24 DIMM slots and a maximum memory capacity of 1.5 TB for future expansion.

Redundant 750 W platinum supplies

Dual 750 watt platinum-efficiency power supplies provide hot-swap redundancy for sustained operation.
