This 2U rack server delivers thirty-six cores at 2.3 GHz with a 3.6 GHz turbo across two Xeon E5-2699 v3 processors. The LGA 2011-3 platform supports up to 1.5 TB of DDR4 across twenty-four slots. Twelve 3.5-inch trays accept SATA or SAS drives behind a PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache and battery-backed RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60.

Sustained throughput with redundant power

Dual 750 W platinum supplies share load so the system maintains full CPU and memory speed during continuous database or VDI sessions. The PERC H730 battery protects in-flight writes if power fluctuates. Quad-port networking combines two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links on an X520/I350 daughter card, keeping storage traffic flowing without saturating a single pipe.

Verify rack depth, drive count

The chassis needs a standard 2U rack aperture and sliding rails are included. Twelve 3.5-inch bays are populated with trays only; no drives ship inside. Memory uses registered ECC DDR4 at 2133 MHz; sixteen 32 GB modules fill two-thirds of the slots, leaving eight free for future expansion up to the 1.5 TB ceiling. iDRAC 8 Enterprise provides remote console and lifecycle control over a dedicated management port.
