This 2U rack server ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2609v3 six-core processor running at 1.9 GHz and 8 GB of DDR4 memory. It includes a Dell PERC H730 RAID controller with 1 GB cache and three 300 GB 15K SAS drives installed in hot-plug bays. Dual 750 W redundant power supplies and a DVD-ROM drive complete the base configuration.

Suited for dense storage workloads

The chassis supports up to twelve 3.5-inch hot-plug SAS or SATA drives and offers six PCIe 3.0 slots plus a dedicated RAID card slot. It is not suited for workloads that require dual processors from the outset, larger memory footprints beyond the single-processor limit, or 10 GbE networking without adding an optional daughter card.

Storage capacity ceiling is 52 TB

The H730 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the twelve-bay backplane. Maximum raw capacity reaches 52 TB when all bays are populated with compatible high-capacity drives. iDRAC8 Express provides remote management out of the box, with Enterprise features available as an upgrade.
