The Dell PowerEdge R740 fits in a standard 2U rack space and ships with two Intel Gold 6126 processors running at 2.6GHz. Each CPU provides 12 cores and 19.25M cache for multi-threaded workloads. The system includes 64GB of DDR4 memory across four 16GB modules at 2666 MT/s. Six 960GB SAS SSDs are installed behind an H730P RAID controller.
Redundant 1100W supplies and iDRAC9 management
Dual 1100W power supplies provide redundancy for continuous operation in dense racks. The integrated iDRAC9 Enterprise controller enables remote monitoring and firmware updates without physical access. Network connectivity uses an Intel X550 adapter with two 10Gb RJ45 and two 1Gb RJ45 ports. Up to eight PCIe Gen 3 slots remain available for additional I/O cards.
Bezel rails and power cords included
A front bezel without LCD, sliding rails and power cords are supplied so the unit can be racked immediately. No optical drive is fitted, leaving all eight 2.5-inch drive bays open for storage expansion. The H730P controller manages the existing SAS SSD array and any future drives added to the remaining bays. Export restrictions apply to this configuration.
