The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Silver 4210R processors, each with 10 cores running at 2.4 GHz. iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management
The integrated iDRAC9 Enterprise licence provides full out-of-band control, virtual console and lifecycle automation without an extra subscription. Dual 1100 W redundant power supplies keep the platform running through a single supply failure. Included rails and bezel simplify rack installation, while the Intel X550 network daughter card delivers two 10 Gb RJ45 and two 1 Gb RJ45 ports for flexible connectivity.
Eight 2.5-inch drive bays with six populated
Six of the eight front 2.5-inch bays are filled with 960 GB SAS SSDs, leaving two open bays for capacity expansion. The H730P controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, giving a choice of redundancy or maximum usable space. Up to eight PCIe Gen 3 slots accommodate additional network, storage or accelerator cards when the workload outgrows the onboard resources.
