Dual Xeon Silver 6130 2.1GHz 16-core server
The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack-mount server equipped with two Intel Xeon Silver 6130 processors running at 2.1 GHz. Each CPU provides 16 cores and 22 MB cache for a total of 32 cores across the dual-socket platform. It is designed for virtualisation, database and compute workloads that require high thread counts in a standard rack footprint.
1.5 TB DDR4 with 3 TB headroom and eight 3.5" bays
The system ships with 1536 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory installed across the available DIMM slots, leaving capacity to expand up to the platform maximum of 3 TB. Storage is handled by a PERC H730P RAID controller supporting eight 3.5-inch SATA drive bays; no drives are included so capacity and redundancy can be tailored to the deployment.
iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management
Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 9 with Enterprise licence provides full out-of-band management, virtual console and automation APIs. A dual-port 10 GbE 562T adapter is fitted for high-throughput network connectivity. Redundant 750 W power supplies are installed and a rail kit is available on request for rack mounting.
