The Dell PowerEdge R740 chassis provides eight 3.5-inch drive bays and is equipped with two Intel Xeon Gold 6148 processors. Each processor runs at 2.4 GHz with ten cores and 27.5 MB of cache, giving a dual-socket total of twenty cores. The system ships with 512 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory and a PERC H730P RAID controller. No drives are installed in the factory configuration.
