The Dell PowerEdge R740xd is a 2U rack server built around twelve 3.5-inch drive bays, dual Xeon Gold 5118 processors and 128 GB of DDR4 memory. It ships with a PERC H730P controller, an Intel X520/I350 quad-port network daughter card, iDRAC 9 Enterprise and redundant 750 W platinum power supplies. The platform targets software-defined storage, service-provider workloads and virtual desktop infrastructure.
