The Dell PowerEdge R740xd2 packs 26 bays of 3.5-inch drives into a 2U chassis. Two Xeon Gold 6154 processors at 3.0GHz with 18 cores each deliver 36 threads for parallel workloads. 128GB of DDR4 ECC memory across 16 slots supports large datasets and virtualization. The HBA330 controller manages 26 enterprise 8TB 7.2K SATA drives for raw capacity.

Verify rack depth power

The 2U form factor needs a rack with sufficient depth and airflow for sustained operation. Two 1100W platinum supplies require appropriate PDU circuits and voltage. Network connectivity uses a 1GbE dual-port LOM and a 57414 dual-port 10/25Gb SFP28 OCP 2.0 mezzanine card. iDRAC 9 Enterprise provides out-of-band management over a dedicated port. Front bezel and rails are not included.
