The Dell PowerEdge R750 is a 2U rack server built for enterprise workloads that demand high core counts and large memory capacity. It ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 5317 processors, each providing 12 cores at a 3.0 GHz base clock with 3.6 GHz turbo. The system includes 768 GB of DDR4 2933 MHz registered ECC memory across 24 DIMM slots. It is suited for virtualization, databases, and analytics in data-centre environments.

Twelve 3.5-inch drive bays and H755 RAID

The chassis provides twelve hot-swap 3.5-inch trays supporting both SAS and SATA drives. A Dell PERC H755 PCIe RAID controller with 8 GB NV cache and battery backs the array, enabling RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60. Dual 1400 W platinum power supplies deliver redundant hot-swap power. An OCP 3.0 card with dual 10 GbE SFP+ ports handles network connectivity, while iDRAC 9 Enterprise provides remote management. Ready rails and a front bezel are included for rack installation.

768 GB DDR4 with 2 TB ceiling

The installed 768 GB of DDR4 memory occupies 24 of the 32 available slots, leaving room to scale up to the platform maximum of 2 TB. This headroom supports growing virtual machine density or in-memory database workloads. The two-socket design maxes out at two processors, so compute expansion stops at the current 24 total cores. Builds needing more than twelve 3.5-inch drives or additional PCIe devices beyond the OCP slot will require a different chassis.
