The Dell PowerEdge R750 is a 2U rack server built for data-intensive workloads such as databases, analytics and virtualization. Two Intel Xeon Gold 5317 processors deliver 24 cores at 3.0 GHz with 3.6 GHz turbo for sustained multi-threaded throughput. One terabyte of DDR4 2933 MHz registered ECC memory across 32 slots supports large in-memory datasets. Twenty-four 1.8 TB 10K SAS drives provide high-capacity, low-latency storage behind a PERC H755 controller with 8 GB NV cache.

Build integration requirements

The chassis occupies 2U of rack space and includes ready rails and a front bezel for standard cabinet mounting. Dual 1400 W platinum power supplies deliver redundant hot-swap power without external dependencies. A Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 network card occupies one PCIe slot for baseline connectivity. iDRAC 9 Enterprise enables remote deployment, monitoring and firmware updates out of band. The PERC H755 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for flexible data protection.

Sustained-load behaviour

Dual 1400 W platinum supplies maintain stable voltage under continuous full-load operation across both CPUs, all memory slots and the full drive array. The PERC H755 battery-backed cache preserves write performance during extended write-heavy sequences. iDRAC 9 Enterprise provides persistent telemetry for thermal and power trends during long-running jobs. Twenty-four 10K SAS spindles deliver consistent IOPS without the write-amplification variability seen in flash-only arrays.
